I really think this is a cool activity. The picture that I picked was off eleven children all about middle school age in a storm shelter in England. To me, it was a really powerful picture. I can't imagine hiding in a ditch for hours on end trying to survive. Actually, it sounds terrifying. There are no adults in this picture, so either the parents are somewhere else or the don't have any. I can't even begin to think what it would be like to sit in a hole with ten other kids, huddling with my sister and wondering if we were going to live. And after that, wonder where my parents are and if they are safe. This picture really shows the struggles that the average citizen had to face everyday during the war. I wonder if things like this happen in Iraq. I wonder if there are kids hiding in houses and in basements, trying not to get hit by bombs or crossfire between the soldiers. I have no idea what it's like to grow up in a war torn country or in a place where bombs are being dropped, but I can see that times really haven't changed.

Wow!! Thats a really powerful picture! You made a really good connection when you said that you wonder if kids in Iraq are hiding in fear like those kids. It really makes me realize how fortunate we are that we don't have to live in fear. Good job! Thats really interesting! :)
I believe I taught myself about two years ago and I have been playing ever since. So you play drums? Interesting. my bandmates and I have been looking for a new drummer. Great post by the way. You really connected with it. Good job.
One of my friend went to Iraq, and he said that they have to shoot the kids because they have guns and other weapons, to kill US soldiers with. It's really sad. I mean, seriously, who gives their kid a gun? Little kids? To me that would seem like playing with fire.
