Gut Feeling

Hey, I am so excited about reading "To Kill A Mocking Bird". I love to read historical fiction. My favorite time periods to read about are during the Civil War and World War 2.

So anyway, I wanted to tell you about what I thought about my gut reaction to the questions Ms. James gave us the other day. I didn't have the guts to say anything in class. You don't have to agree with me, but there what I think about #10 on the sheet.

10. When the law does not succeed in punishing criminals, citizens should do so.

I disagree with this statement. I also disagree with "Don't get mad, get even." Getting back at people will do no good. Two wrongs don't made a right. Plus vengeance is with the Lord. He can do better than you can even imagine. For Romans12:19 says "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." God loves us so much that he carries our hurt, and pain, and guilt. We don't have to make ourselves feel better by getting even. We can give it the Lord to take care of. God does this because he loves us so much.

I agree. Besides, I really believe that citizens taking the law into their own hands is the first form of anarchy. You get these people that don't agree with the law so they decide to do things their way. Soon, you have other people thinking that they can do the same thing and eventually you have a whole society of people not listening. Good post. :]

I agree with you about the gut feeling question. The Lord will always take care of things and we don't always have to try and fix things ourselves. As for To Kill A Mockingbird I want to read more right now it seems to be going kind of slow... I hope it gets better.
