One of the main topics that’s talked about in this book is the use of drugs and dealing. This topic is something that is dealt with a million times everyday, and frankly, I find it dumb. The highs that these drugs produce are around for nothing but to “make you feel better”? Everyone is searching for that same high while at the same time you are just getting lazier and unhealthier, and with your body getting used to the effects you will never get the same high as your first or second time that you smoked pot, or blew a line of coke or Oxy-cotton etc. I have a lot of friends who have used drugs in the past and most of them either have quit or are trying to, and frankly I feel that it’s a very good thing to do. Check out the CIA drug timeline for more information
On another point, I’m not trying to be a fence-setter, but drugs have done some good things for us, example, all the music that’s enhanced our lives over the years, every single one of them, really high on drugs, but that doesn’t mean that I agree with their use.
Drugs aren’t healthy for your body or mind, many people may use them for the expansion of the mind, but that doesn’t mean that it’s doing you any good. Studies have proven for everything except for Marijuana that all synthetic and natural drugs and or hallucinogens have negative side effects on all the parts of your body, and you can go from a healthy active human to a junkie who lives in the alley down the street. You can die once from smoking just one crack rock, example, Len Bias. Senior college basketball player at Maryland University, Got drafted into the NBA by the Boston Celtics, at a later celebration he tried crack once and died, an entire plentiful life right down the drain, all thanks to a night of celebration gone bad. Look at this website, for more information about Len Bias
This is my opinion on drugs, they aren’t good for you, you can go on without them and you sure as heck don’t need them. A lot of people use illegal drugs, and I’m proud to say I have never tried any illegal drug, because I don’t need to get high. A lot of people I have talked to said they have realized they don’t need them, and they have just as much fun without them. And I’m not trying to say that all people that do drugs are bad, but I’m saying that they just don’t need them, and their harming themselves. Comment your opinion on this topic.

This is such a cool post! After eveyone has been talking about this book, I've always wanted to read it. I'll have to check it out over the summer. These paintings that you've been posting are always so cool. They wouldn't be something that I normal would take the time to look at, but it's added a diversity to the blog. Thanks for putting them on here. It's been really cool to look at them.
That was a really good post. I think that it is an amazing thing to post about and I am glad that your friends are trying to quit.
I read this book too , it was awesome, but also really frustrating. I just wanted Jude's mom to find out the truth. Jude had so much bad luck!
That was a great post, I really liked it. Throughout this semester I have enjoyed reading your posts, and I loved all of the pictures. Great Job!
In my opinion drugs are some of the worst things that you can do to your body. True the music aspect is great, but there are far more bad consequences than there are good consequences. Drugs ruin lives all the time, and just becuase people feel good they are really hurting themselves. They will eventually hurt others around them just becuase they have such a strong addiction to he drug.
Your book "Jude" sounds like a great read. I'll try to get into it over the summer. Thanks for the great idea!
Great Post!
I also really enjoy the art that you put on your blogs.
aww the final painting! I have to say, i have really enjoyed your putting Alex Greys work on your posts. they are great and make me think. Ill miss them! :-)
I totally agree with you on the whole post! i live on such a natural high anyway and i know that you do as well and its pointless doing drugs. It always has been. Great post! :-)
Nice post, man. I can't say that I've read Jude, so any comments on that would be entirely useless. HOWEVER. I do understand your point about drugs. Honestly, I can't say that it bothers me if someone uses, as long as they are aware of exactly what they are doing. Hard drugs appear to be quite the bad idea though, just because of the massively detrimental effects that they can have on both the user's life, and those around them - but dope doesn't affect one's body any more negatively than does smoking.
And you are completely right about the ability that drugs have to make stars fall from their places in the sky, if you will pardon the cheesy analogy. Like you mentioned, many great artists and entertainers (and athletes, etc.) have lost their lives to using, or something related - like Johnny Thunders, possibly the most significant guitarist of the past 30 years (to those who remember/are aware of him). This is switching gears a bit, but listen to him play "Pipeline" clean, and then doped up... they said he could play that song in a coma, but man, what a difference being clean made.
Anyways... I've gone on at length here, much of which is likely unnecessary. Great posts, past and present... and very trippy art by Mr. Grey.
Peace, my brother.
hey thanks alot man, (phasma)
i couldnt find any negative studies on pot, the thing that bothers me most about drugs is the musicians that it has killed so many of my heroes, Brad nowell, shannon hoon, morrison, hendrix, jerry garcia, and all of those except for hoon were from a hard drug (heroin), and i do excuse the analogy, like i said i have friends that use drugs, but they are smart about them, but i still dont like them, it just isnt a smart choice
I know exactly what you mean, man . All the greats are gone, it seems...
Peace and Love.
