I am really enjoying Mockingbird. Last night's reading was pretty exciting. I didn't think Atticus was going to shoot the mad dog. I pictured Tim Johnson limping down the street, punch-drunk rather than all twitchy. I don't know why, but once I picture something I can't get it out of my head even if it is completely off the mark. There is something I really enjoyed about Chapter 11. I love how Atticus tells Scout that a bad name is only bad if you think it is. Phrases aren't naturally offensive, they are only what you make them. I <3 class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Atticus. I'm kind of glad that Mrs. Dubose died. Considering the fact that she always suffered, I think that when you're lonely that long and you deal with chronic ailment each day, then it probably is time to go to another place. I didn't necessarily agree with her views on Atticus, but she did help Jem with his reading. Even though she gave Scout and Jem a hard time every day, she had a good heart.
