Auntie Bye-bye!!!!!!

Aunt Alexandra needs to go back to her own home. She is pushy and self-centered. She is posing as a mother, but a very obnoxious one. She is placing herself in a place where she doesn't belong, and that annoys the living daylights out of me. Does anyone else think this, or am I reading to much into this? I hate it when people put their noses where they don't belong.

It's so cute how Jem is copying Aticus when he, Dill, and Scout sneak out to the jail. I love how Scout is so quick to defend Jem. I have to wonder how hard so kicked him. I would think Jem would get in more trouble for defying and emabarraing his father than snaeking out in the frist place. (But it's sweet!!!)

It's so neat how the innocence of a child can affect great things. Had Scout NOT spoken up, who knows what would've happened to Atticus. (It annoys me how they call him "Aticus" and "Sir" all the time.) When I was reading this and it said, "Atticus had stopped poking Jem," I imagined a grownan poking his son over and over again. It made for a pretty intresting picture.

I love how you were talking about putting your nose in other peoples business. I agrivates me too. I don't like it when your parents have friends over and they seem like they need to give you their advice. I don't know if this has happened to you but it is so annoying. It's like your not my mom so stop telling me what to do. I know to respect my elders but sometimes they should not be trying to intrude in the first place.

i agree with you i think that aunt alexandra needs to go back home. she is too strict and not very compassionate towards jem and scout. i know that atticus wants them to have a mother figure in their life but i think having her there makes them form a bad impression of how mothers should act.

I agree with both of you. Plus, I think she might be giving Scout the wrong impression of being a "lady."

I agree with the posts and the comments, Aunt Alexandria is driving me nuts! I think Atticus is an awesome father, instead of Scout playing with tea sets like a "proper lady" she can read. I admire Atticus and think he does a great job WITHOUT nosy aunts.

Exactly!!! Atticus has given them everything they need. So what if she doesn't grow up to be a society defined "proper lady"? She's already engaged and ordering a baby.
Quick question? Up to chapter 16 has been three years, right?
