Balcony Advantages

Ok, so I would think being in the balcony would be better than sitting on the main level. I mean, whenever the book was describing the balcony view, it said that you could see everything. Down on the "white people level" you'd have head and what-not in the way. From up above, you would be looking down, so you could see more. That was the first thing that came to MY mind as I was reading this. Of course, since white people always sat below, they never knew this, I don't suppose, otherwise I'd think they'd argue for balcony. It makes since to me. What is the point of the trial anyways? Since there's an all white jury, because that's all they had, doesn't it seem like they all knew what the verdict is?

In my opinion the trial was to do exactly what trials are supposed to do, prove a man guilty or innocent. Everyone knew the outcome of the trial before it started, but it turns out that it's a step in the right direction. Atticus proved that he was innocent and earned a lot of respect from the african-americans. Since the jury didn't decide immediately that meant that they were considering him being innocent. so, like i said they are getting closer to the point where a african american man is proved innocent against a white man.

Ya I agree that having an all white jury deciding whether a black man goes to jail or is set free would not be fair. Even if he is innocent I still think that they would try to do everything possible to see that he is put in jail. Although its very sad, I think that would happen.

I agree if there is an african american man being tried, then there should be at least one african american on the jury that just isn't fair
