Story Telling

Today in class we went around our teams and told stories. This was our first draft for our paper and I'm sure everyone has done this before. It's really fun to learn about other people and their past experiences of the past and people can learn from it. Our table appeared to be dog lovers as some of our stories were about our dogs. Dogs can really be a man's best friend and they fill their own place in our hearts in my opinion. I could not imagine what it would feel like without my dog. We also critiqued each others papers and gave positive feedback. We also told others what they should improve on. I think this method of proofreading and editing is a great choice because instead of hearing just a teacher's opinion, you hear others as well. I think it is also very important to listen to others with respect and give them the attitude that they deserve.

Using that type of feedback system lets you connect with other students on a more personal level and lets the reader get feedback in terms that they might understand better then the teacher just pointing out all of the gramatical errors. I enjoyed today with the group discussions.

I agree, the group conference time was very benefcial to me. It was interesting to get feedback and use it to fix and edit your paper. It was also interesting to see how other people perceived your paper. Altogtether, I feel it was a very prosperous experience.

I like this way of getting feedback, but it was a little embarrassing. The suggestions my group gave back were thoughtful and polite though, so I'm glad that we did it!

Yeah, I was kinda scared since I had to go first but my group was really nice and polite.

I really liked having people listen to me read the paper rather than for them to actually read it. It also helped me see my own mistakes rather than have someone else fix them for me.
