Miss Caroline

Did anyone else think that what Miss Caroline did to Scout because she knew how to read was wrong? What kind of a teacher would punish a kid for being talented? Also, I am so glad that physical punishment in the classroom is no longer allowed. I've heard so many stories from my grandpa about how he was a mischevious kid and he got spankings when he was little. The teacher sounds like she is very out of place in the town. Has anyone seen the movie of to kill a mockingbird? I guess it's pretty good, it won an academy award. I think it would be interesting to see just so I could compare the mental image of the characters to the people playing the parts. Most of the time I like the books better than the movies, I don't think there are any movies that I like better than the book they were based off of.

Actually, they are attempting to pass a new bill making it illegal to spank children at all, even if you are the parent.

I think we have more important things to think about, not a form of discipline that parents use.

I've personally never been spanked, so I don't know how it feels. I still think that it is up to the parent(s) what method they want to use to discipline their children.

I do think that it was wrong for Miss Caroline to do that to Scout.

Are they really trying to pass a bill that is going to make spanking illeagal? That is really interesting. I did not think that parents still did that.

crazyday you are right, I think that is is up to the parent to decide how to discipline their kids.
