Wishful Thinking

I started a non-fiction book today. It is called Wishful Thinking:A Seeker's ABCs by Frederick Buechner. This is like a religious lexicology, but it is in the author's perspective. I found this book very inspirational. To me, it was like a sermon, but not one of the boring ones in church. This book is like a sermon that actually interests you and makes you think. Here is one of my favorite passages:

Agnostic
An aganostic is somebody who doesn't know for sure whether there really is a God. That is some people all of the time and all people some of the time.
There are some aganostics who don't know simply because they've never taken pains to try and find out-like the bear who didn't know what was on the other side of the mountain.
There are other agnostics who have taken many pains. They have climbed over the mountain, and what do you think they saw? Only the other side of the mountain. At least that was all they could be sure of. That faint glimmer on the far horizon could have just been Disneyland.


How does that make you feel? This made me think of the phrase "seeing is believing". Just because you don't see God, doesn't mean he's not there.

Now, I'm not saying that people don't believe in God are wrong or anything, but I am just giving you my opinion. I reccomend this book to any Christian who is bored with being Christian. I know that sounds weird, but if you are going through it, then you know what I mean.
I don't reccommend this to non-Christians, because the book talks about Jesus and most non-Christians don't believe in Jesus.
