To Kill A Mockingbird!
Wow I can not believe that we are already half way through the book. In my opinion I think it is getting a lot better and it is much easier to read for me. I was also very excited when I finally figured out the meaning of the title. Atticus told Jem that he could shoot all the bluejays that he wanted to just as long as he didn't shoot a mockingbird then he would be fine. The reason he could not shoot a mockingbird was because it was a sin. Miss Maudie also agreed with Atticus on this matter. After reading this I obviously thought that the title had something to do with sinning or wrong doing. Now I'm just waiting to find out who is the one committing theses sins. After analyzing this passage, it helped me understand the book a little bit more and hopefully it will help all of you too!
What do you think the title means?
Is the book reading better for everyone? ( I hope so)

are you sure that thats what the title means?
hmm, that's an interesting thought about what the title means. I never came up with that idea. I think that the title has to do with the mockingbird representing the innocence of the children's childhood how they grow up and eventually dies through the course of the book. I also think that the mockingbird represents the innocent people in the book like Boo Radley. It's an abstract thought, but that's what I'm sticking with.
If you take your train of thought, it could be meaning the Tom Robinson case. Or maybe it was just a random saying from the line.
