~Crash~

When I heard Ms. James comparing the way Scout and Jem were judging Calpurnia's speaking to the people in the movie Crash I could completely relate. I have seen that movie and the people in it really do judge others by the way they talk. The film takes place in Los Angeles within a 36 hour period. Many of the characters are racist and become involve in conflicts in which their racial beliefs come out. Through these events the movie tries to show the racial tensions that are still in the United States. Racism has always been a problem. Many people think that we have come along way in decreasing the amount of racism in our country. I have to say that I agree with those people but I also believe that their are still harsh feelings between different races, and I think thats what the movie Crash was trying to explain to people. Although we have made progress in the fight to end racism, there are still events that take place today similar to the trial in To Kill A Mockingbird. I think we need to stop and think about this and try to find a solution to stop the tradition of believing in racism.
