As I read through Ms. James' post, I clicked on the link Loose Change for Loose Chains and read through the section titled "Slaves then and now." It said that we still have 27 MILLION slaves today. I was in shock! Although there are many differences of past slaves to present slaves. For example, in the past it was legal to "own" slaves, so they would do tasks such as pick cotton, or harvest grains or fruits. Now, slaves are used in America for deplorable acts such as prostitution, and in other countries for field or building work.
QUESTIONS:
- WHAT SHOULD AMERICA DO ABOUT SLAVERY?
- WOULD YOU TRY TO RISK YOUR LIFE TO ESCAPE?
- DO YOU THINK SLAVES JOBS HAVE GOTTEN WORSE OR BETTER?

Took a while to get it to actually work, but some jobs aren't that good. Especially to the Mexicans coming over >.<" People are so mean to them!!
1)I believe that America should ban all slavery. I think it is childish to still not treat people equal.
2) I do think I would risk my life to escape because if I got killed for trying to runaway at least I would not have to suffer and if I did escape I would be free!!
3)Knowing how the world has changed so much i belive that slavery would probally be worse for them.

I am pretty sure that I would end up risking my life to get away from slavery. I can't ever know what I would really do, but I would not want to be treated in that sort of way. I have as many rights as anybody. If I did die because of trying to run away atleast I would not be tortured anymore. I would be put out of my misery.
That is one interesting picture. Anways, views on slavery have changed over the years and that doesn't suprise me that much that slavery is still around. When there was more slavery I think people grew into the fact that it is still ok to have slaves. Thus now there is still slaves. This could also be a reason why there is still racism in this world. I agree that everyone should have equal rights and we should try our best to stop those but there are still people out there that disagree.
I think that I would risk my life to escape slavery. I would much rather be killed than have to be someone else's property. I wish that slavery would go away and everyone would realzie how bad it is, but I know that isn't going to happen. But just imagine how awesome it would be if everyone treated everyone else equally.
