In the book "To Kill a Mockingbird", Scout takes great offense to people calling her father nigger lover. She usually even fights them when they call Atticus that. Would you take such a strong offense if people called your father that, even to the point of wanting to fight them?
If someone was slandering my father or my family, I would probably fight them too. I don't really care if you call me something, but I don't like people calling my family or friends stuff that is derogatory or cruel because of a way they act.
It would depend, really. If everybody in my town thought something of my family like Maycomb does about Atticus, you can't take on everybody at once without making yourselves look even worse, so I probably would just let it go.
How do you feel about the way Scout reacts to people calling Atticus names? Do you agree with Scout's point of view or with Atticus' point of view of just letting it go?

I think I would react like Scout did but I think Atticus' point of view of letting go is the right thing to do. I would really know how I would react until I was in that situation.
I would go with Atticus's way to an extent, but if it got too far, then I would defend the family name and fight.
