Tom's Death
Can you believe that Tom died? He was trying to escape prison and was shot... 17 times! First of all I thing that shooting him that many times was ridiculous. The gun men were not shooting to prevent escape, they shot to kill. I cannot imagine how Mrs. Robinson and her children must have felt. My dog Katie was recently put to sleep because she was suffering from cancer. She was part of the family and I miss her a lot, even though it was for the best. I'm this upset about my sick dog, I can't even attempt to comprehend losing an innocent, healthy father/husband. This part of the book was really sad for me. What are your thoughts on the book? Have you ever lost someone close to you?

I also think 17 shots was a little extreme
i totally agree. I couldn't believe that they shot him.
I know how you feel my dog snowy was put to sleep about 8 months ago. I miss her so much. Its a really hard thing to go through.
I think 17 shots is a bit too much. That's the way it was back then, and yes, I think it was horrible the way we were so racist.
I lost my great-grandmother a year or two ago, and she was one of my favorite people. She lived to be about 90, and was always super healthy.
She would always try to spend time and get us to come over to her house to eat big meals she would cook, and she always talked about us. She was one of the greatest, if not the greatest, grandmothers anybody could ever ask for.
