Islam is a monotheistic religion originating with the teachings of Muhammad, a 7th century Arab religious and political figure. It is the second-largest religion in the world today, with an estimated 1.4 billion adherents spread across the globe known as Muslims. Linguistically, Islam means "submission", referring to the total surrender of one's self to God (Allah), and a Muslim is "one who submits (to God)". Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad and that Muhammad is God's final prophet. The Qur'an and the traditions of Muhammad in the Sunnah are regarded as the fundamental sources of Islam. Muslims do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Adam, Ibrahim and other prophets whose messages had become corrupted over time (misinterpreted). Like Judaism, Christianity, and the Bahá'í Faith Islam. We are not an evil religion that believes that committing suicide (suicide bombers) is the way to heaven. The people who believe that are terrorists and they have completely twisted my religion to something it is not.
1.Also the word jihad means a holy war with pens for who ever wanted to know that.

are you islamic?
yes
Wow, I learned a lot from this post. It's neat to have different cultures in our classroom.
That is so neat. I've never know someone who's islamic, so it's really nice to read about the religion from a first hand perspective. I love learning about different cultures, so I hope you will put up with a few questions. What are some of the different holidays that you celebrate? Which one is your favorite?
Very nice. ahBorat isah Muslim justah likah you!
That was very informative, and well written. I'm so glad that you posted about your faith, because, I must say, I don't really know that much about it. But then, I'm really not well versed in the religion that I was supposed to have been raised with, either. Ah well. Thank you for posting; I'm glad that you gave us the opportunity to learn from you. I hope you post more about your family's culture, because there isn't much diversity in this area of the country, least of all our school.
