The Madness of March
Well the time has come. You can tell by the ,"Wise Guys," predicting all the first round upsets, and who will be the next George Mason, and so on. The time of the year win the small schools get a chance to play in front of a national audiuence. The time of the year when brackets are passed around and the bets are placed. The time of the year when everyone places their team as the champion despite the odds. You know what time it is, it is time for March Madness. This year there are many strong teams and lots of national champion contenders. The number one seeds for each region were given to Florida, who is the defending champs hoping to be the first team to repeat since Duke did it in 1992. Florida also won the SEC regular seaon and conference tournament. The second number one seed was North Carolina, the won a share of the ACC regular season championship and beat the NC State Wolfpack in the ACC tournament championship. Although North Carolina has the fewest wins and most losses of all the number one seeds. Kansas gets the third number one seed. The Jayhawks also won both thier conference championships and had only 3 losses. Ohio State got the last number one seed. Like the other seeds they won both thier conference championships and only had 3 losses on the year. Some other contenders are Memphis, Georgetown, Wisconson, UCLA, Texas, Duke, and Texas A&M. The best canidates for the Cinderella team are Winthrop, Butler, Oral Roberts, Xaiver, or of course the regular Gonzaga, who always seems to make it far. This tournament shapes up to be a very interesting tournament. It will be fun to see who is able to live up to the expectations people have for them and who will pass those expectations. My predictions are for the Sweet Sixteen Florida, Davidson, Oregon, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Southern Ill., Duke, UCLA, UNC, Texas, Washington St., Georgetown, Ohio State, Tenn., Texas A&M, and Memphis. My elite eight is Florida, Oregon, Kansas, UCLA, Texas, Georgetown, Ohio State, and Texas A&M. My final four is Florida, UCLA, Texas, and Texas A&M. For the final game I have Texas beating UCLA too shock a lot of people. The resaon I have Texas as the National Champion is because Kevin Durant reminds me a lot of Carmelo Anthony. For you non basketball fans Carmelo Anthony led Syracuse to a Championship in 2003 as a freshman. It should be fun. I can't wait.

Yea I agree, Kevin Durant is going to take them far, but I don't know if he can take them to the national championship game, I think they will get to the final four, but they will be upset by Texas A&M AC LAw is too good. I think A&M will win it all.
